    President's Report

Our new website has launched! Information will be added and updated over the next couple of weeks but in the meantime please peruse the site and feel free to provide feedback on the structure and content. This month, we are featuring projects from Member Ralph Verrastro, PE of Bridging Solutions, LLC. To have your projects featured, email us to find out how!

The snowbirds are heading home and we are quickly approaching the end of our FES season. We have a few great events lined up to finish up the year!

We held our April lunch meeting at the FGCU ETI facility located off Alico Road. This lunch meeting featured a tour of the new facility and a presentation on the recently launched Masters in Engineering programs. Dr. Woolschlager was an excellent tour guide and provided a wealth of information about the Masters Program and other current events happening at the College of Engineering.

Mark your calendars for May 26th! We will be hosting our annual Casino Night which is a fundraiser for our scholarships. It is always a great time so work on your game faces and get your checkbooks ready!  Sponsorship and RSVP information can be found by clicking here!

Our end of the year chapter awards, scholarship, and office installation banquet is scheduled for June 28th at the Hilton Garden Inn. This year’s chapter awards winners will be honered at our annual awards dinner meeting. Congratulations to all and we look forward to seeing you there!

Student Chapter Participation at Annual Conference

The Student Professional Development Committee is looking to increase student participation at Annual Conference at the Breakers Palm Beach.  In addition to the Summit being sponsored by the Florida Engineers in Education (FEE) on Thursday Aug 3rd, we are encouraging the students to attend as many of the Technical Sessions and social events as they can.  Unfortunately, the current budget only supports 28 students for 2 nights (two students from each student Chapter).  To get the most from the conference, the students would need to stay for a minimum of 3 nights (Wednesday thru Friday) or even Saturday.  Consequently, we are asking each of the professional Chapters to provide funding for their students to stay the extra night or two.  This cost is approximately $250 each night.  This funding can come from either the Chapter operating funds, sponsorships or thru some type of fund raising effort.  Please provide the requested additional funding by July 1st in order to secure the rooms.

Thank you for your help with this and for your support of our college students.  If you have any questions, please contact Amanda Hudson (ahudson@fleng.org) at FES HQ or the SPDC Chair, JW Hunter (jwhunter@eismanrusso.com).

    Casino Night 2017

It’s that time of year again!

The FES Calusa Chapter is pleased to announce the 8th Annual Casino Night Fundraiser will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn Fort Myers Airport (across from the Gulf Coast Town Center) on Friday, May 26th, 2017.

We had such a fantastic turnout last year, we hope to make this year’s event even better! The most important of the stated goals of our organization is to promote engineering education, and our Casino Night Fundraiser acts as the primary means for providing scholarship funding to achieve that goal.

Checks can be made out to the Florida Engineering Foundation. Please write Calusa Chapter on the memo line. Donations made online will also be eligible for charitable donations.

Over the past 20 years, the kindness of our friends in the development, construction, engineering, and other professional communities has enabled numerous students from local high schools to pursue a degree in engineering. Casino night aims to raise money for our chapter to award scholarships to students from area high schools that intend to study engineering in college.

We hope that you will choose to help in achieving this goal by participating in our Casino Night as a promotional sponsor. To become a sponsor, please fill out the online form to pay by credit card, or to pay by check, fill out the forms found here, and mail them to:
